Stop Overdevelopment
Our unequivocal stance against housing on the Howard Hughes tract has prevailed: No housing will be built on this land.
The Mayor negotiated, and Council approved, a settlement agreement for the 653-acre property for commercial development only. No housing, no overcrowding of schools. But it will generate significant tax revenue for the township.
Eliminated 500+ proposed homes at Southfield Road and Rt. 571, and 400+ homes on the Hall property which was preserved as open space.
Protect Public Health and Safety
Mayor Marathe worked tirelessly to provide residents with the latest information about the pandemic. The Mayor and Council coordinated vaccinations and other services which are vital to keeping our community healthy and safe. Currently, over 95% of all residents over age 18 are vaccinated.
Control Affordable Housing & Increase Business Development
With the township’s Fair Share Housing Agreement now settled in court, we have been working to meet West Windsor’s legal obligation in a way that best protects the quality of life that we all value.
To deal with the fiscal impact of this court settlement, Mayor Marathe and Council Member Geevers, both Planning Board members, have been directly involved in the development of a new Master Plan which encourages a variety of commercial developments throughout the township that will both lessen the tax burden on residents and provide you with valuable services.
Infrastructure Improvements
Doubled spending on roads and sidewalks. Completed significant improvements including lighted stop sign at Baxter, 2 traffic lights at Cranbury and Millstone, dedicated right turn lane from Village Road West to North Post Road.
Effective Management of Budget
No municipal tax increases for the past two years. Doubled our surplus. Generated $750,000 more revenue than projected, even during the pandemic.
Green Initiatives
Sustainable Jersey Reusable Bag Initiative; Solar Panel Installations at multiple locations; Sustainable Jersey Silver and SolSmart certifications.
